From young age, Cameron decided to chase his dream

...And most of all, DeCastro knows that the real story is how unbelievable it is for Cameron to be playing in the World Cup at all, knows all the odds he’s overcome, knows that the World Cup was as far away as the distant star when he first met Cameron.

“Geoff Cameron’s father wanted it for him,” DeCastro said, who coached a club team called Bayside United Premier. “But Geoff wanted it more. He always wanted to practice more. He always was willing to keep pushing himself.”

Bayside United BU14 Team Beach Tournament
BU14BeachTournamentChamps.JPG

The club’s BU14 team, the Bayside United Strykers, took second place in the Soccer Resort’s Beach Blitz tournament.  Coach Dave and Coach Paulo brought the team to the tournament that was held in West Haven, CT on June 21, 14.  The team played extremely well in their first beach soccer tournament never losing in any of the regulation games or the semifinal match. They put up an excellent fight in the final, but in the end, the team took second place in their division.  It was a great teambuilding experience and the players learned some great techniques for playing in a beach tournament.

Bayside United BU14's Manager Joyce and GoalKeeper Tyler gain the SPOTLIGHT!! Please read: http://www.nhregister.com/general-news/20140621/northeast-teams-compete-in-west-haven-beach-tournament-talk-world-cup
